Gold Rimmed Depression Glass Butter Pats
A Vintage Table had a Place and a Dish for Everything
Butter pats were wonderful little vessels that saved many a linen table cloth from a nice little greasy spot. During the summers they could be refrigerated to help keep butter cold during meals before the days of air conditioned dining rooms. All this china had very specific uses.
At one time the 10K Gold rim was larger and much more pronounced. The embossed pattern is quite fancy with scrolls and a Lyre. It is rare to see patterns with a musical theme. The background is a tiny hobnail texture. These little dishes are smaller than your average coaster at approx. 3 inches in diameter but there are plenty of other ways to use them creatively in Farm House or French Country Style decorating.
I would love to hear from anyone who could identify this pattern and maker for me.I would love to share that information with the new owner.
There are 5 butter pats included in this collection.
