Wonderful Milk Glass Butter Pats in Jadeite and Opalescent Green
Two Sets of Shades of Green Milk Glass Butter Pats
When you sat down to eat a Blue Plate Special at a small town diner your plate always had a side dish of cold pats of butter on white paper in wonderful pottery dish. Heavy Iron Stone and wonderful milk glass in lovely pastel colors were the carriers of some mighty good food.
These pieces were once part of a large family of serving pieces and are now looking for new tables that need butter for their bread. Two of the butter pats are that bright spring green so common in the 50's. Four are a very light opalescent green that looks like a pearl when you hold it in the light. Each of the dishes have a scalloped design around the rim. They are 3 1/4 inches in diameter with no chips or cracks. The darker green pats have some scratches.
They are like stained glass when placed in a sunny window.
