Your hand made purchase

Our hand forged iron products need to be held to be appreciated. We try as best we can to represent our products with honesty about what you will receive. I will try here to answer a few questions and let you know what to expect from us. 

We are an artisan maker. We do not mass produce. Our emphasis is on quality and original designs. We take a lot of pride in our product. If you have a problem we will work with you to take care of any issues. We routinely confirm details before shipment to avoid issues that require returns. If the mistake is ours we will make it right at our expense. Our products are handmade. They will show signs of the process and sizes will vary slightly.

Process and Delivery

We try to accurately estimate time on custom request but occasional short delays are possible. We will keep you updated on progress of your order. Custom orders must be paid in full when the order is placed. Exact shipping charges of custom orders are determined by size and weight of the finished product and packaging. This is normally only an issue on large items. 

 

We ship USPS mail unless otherwise requested. All shipments are insured. We are not responsible for damage caused by the shipper. Shipments are thoughtfully packaged. We are in a rural community and support our local post office by shipping directly through them. We normally ship 2 times a week, but will ship more often as needed through out the Holidays. We will keep you posted on status and dates. 

Local pick up is always available if you prefer. Contact us by email and we will arrange payment with out shipping costs and set up a time for your visit. Some items can be made while you watch. Send us a note and a contact number if possible and we will reserve a time.

We do ship to Canada on request. Contact us to get exact shipping charges for your purchase.

Returns

Sometimes things happen. We send the wrong item or you discover its not the one you needed. Please contact us with any issues if its our fault, we will send you a return mailing label and send a replacement at our expense. 

Refunds for returned iron work will be issued once the piece has been received and found to be in original condition. Refunds will not include the original shipping charges. Please contact us concerning your issue and we will work to resolve them as best we can.

We do not refund customized orders. A store credit can be issued in some cases if a commission needs to be canceled depending on the status of the order. We work closely with our clients on customized orders to prevent this by confirming details and specifications as the order progresses. 

Local Pick up and Demonstrations

If you are close enough we would love to meet you! Walter Forge Ironwork can be seen and purchased here at the forge. We always welcome visitors and are glad to arrange demonstrations for those who are interested. Contact us if you would like to reserve a date. We also hold classes in a variety of life skills during the spring and summer when weather permits. We will post dates and times on the site as schedules are confirmed.
