1955 Currier and Ives Lithograph - "Sights At The Fair"
Antique Art Prints of Early America
In the 1800's Nathan Currier established what would later become the amazing art studio of Currier and Ives. Together they assembled a group of artist whose work would document for us life in early America in wonderful artistic detail. These works have become iconic as they transcend the ages.
Beautiful lithographs skillfully drawn were originally hand colored and printed with wood block engravings. In the 1900's when printing became a tad more modernized the publisher created several Coffee Table style Books that allowed the public to own and display artwork in their homes. This Lithograph from the 1955 Edition of "Currier and Ives - A Treasury" is one of 80 prints in the book that were printed in a format to be easily framed.
The original hard back cover though damaged had protected the paper inside. The many years spent closed also protected the prints from foxing and light damage. I carefully snipped each hand sewn page from the next and left the binding holes to validate their authenticity.
Each print comes to you in a 16 x 20 inch beveled edge Mat ready for your suitable framing. There are many seasonal pieces that allow for decorative changes throughout the year.
I have only one copy of this vintage art print available. Your purchase of "Sights at the Fair" includes Carefully packed Shipping and all applicable fees.
