The evolution of steam and the laying of tracks across the nation were a time of great progress for this young country. The sights of these early days were preserved by the artist of Currier and Ives as they created the visions of the mighty trains that rode the rails early on. This lithograph shows us 2 of the Iconic Lightning Express Trains as they roar along the tracks with smoke blowing and embers flying.
