Hemingray Insulators No. 9's, Vintage Glass
Green and Clear Vintage Power Insulators by Hemingray
I have a small collection of 3 Hemingray NO. 9 Insulators available for a bright window. 2 of the vintage glass pieces are Aqua Glass with visible air bubbles and sharp drip points around the single skirt. The insulators are marked PATENT MAY 2 1893. The number 9's were a popular pony style insulator for rural telephone lines. They were Made in the USA and produced from 1890 to 1940. One of the Pony's is clear and has round drip points. These eventually replaced the colored insulators as they were a stronger composition of glass.
The insulators are 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/4 in diameter. There are a couple of minor chips on the skirt base of 1.
Another use of the vessels are to suspend upside down, fill with water and use as a vase or rooting jar. They are wonderful for totems and outdoor art pieces as they were made to withstand the elements.
One Set of 3 number 9's available today at the Time Keepers. Flat rate Pricing includes Shipping and all applicable Fees.
