Vintage Cook Book Duo by Mary Meade
Mary Meade's Magic Recipes and Country Cook Book
On the Time Keeper Shelf are 2 vintage Cook Books by Ruth Ellen Church who was contributing writer to the Chicago Tribune's, Mary Meade section of recipes. For 25 years the Iowa State Graduate wrote and inspired Cooks with her wonderful articles. The books are copyrighted 1964 and 1965.
Mary Meade's Country Cooking is a very traditional American collection of recipes and culinary know how. Mrs. Church writes that "It is not a collection of short cut recipes. Long cut recipes are better. I hope it is a book which will be used until its worn out for that's the kind of cook book I intended it to be."
There are 376 pages including the index in this First Edition Copy. The Book is in very clean and good condition. There are hand drawn black and white graphics as well as full color photography.
The second book in the set is Mary Meade's Magic Recipes. A Cook Book for the Electric Blender. Originally published in 1952 this book became the standard guide to cooking with a blender. "This new addition contains more than 700 recipes of incomparable gourmet flavors and textures."
Magic Recipes still has its original dust jacket that has kept the hardback full color cover in very good condition with some age wear along the top and bottom edge.
There are 372 pages of recipes and index with full color photography.
This set will be a wonderful addition to your Cook Book Collection.
